Salzburg Airport (SZG) is Austria's second ski and charter airport after Innsbruck in winter, with many flights from the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. For the ski areas of the Tyrolean lowlands – Zillertal, Alpbachtal, Kitzbühel Alps – Salzburg is often as close as Innsbruck; for Innsbruck itself, the Ötztal, the Stubai and the Arlberg it is two to three hours away.

How the pick-up at Salzburg Airport works
Salzburg Airport has one terminal; on winter Saturdays additional charter flights are handled through Terminal 2. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall right after baggage reclaim with a name sign; we know from your flight number which exit it is.

For the return transfer to Salzburg Airport we recommend leaving: travel time plus two hours – from the Zillertal about 4 h 30 before departure, from Innsbruck 4 hours.

How long is the taxi from Salzburg Airport to Innsbruck?
About 2 hours for 190 km via the A8 through the "Deutsches Eck" and the Inn valley motorway – no changes. The train takes about 2 h 30 including the S-Bahn to the main station and the change.
Salzburg or Innsbruck – which airport is better for my ski resort?
For the Zillertal, Alpbachtal and Kitzbühel Alps the two are comparable (Salzburg 1 h 45 – 2 h 30); for Innsbruck, Stubai, Seefeld, Ötztal, Paznaun and the Arlberg, Innsbruck is one to two hours closer. We drive from both airports at fixed prices.
Is driving through Germany (Deutsches Eck) a problem?
No – the Salzburg–Kufstein route briefly uses the German A8, which is the fastest connection to Tyrol. Tolls and vignette are included; an ID card or passport is all you need.
Can you carry groups of more than 8?
Yes, with several vehicles at the same time. State the group size in your enquiry and we put together the right combination of minibuses and saloons.
