Arabba and the Marmolada

Arabba (1,600 m) is a small village at the foot of the Pordoi pass on the Belluno side of the Sella Ronda. Its north-facing pistes on Porta Vescovo are among the steepest and longest of the circuit and keep their snow well; the Marmolada glacier (3,343 m) with its 12 km descent is reached by lift from Arabba. The village is part of Dolomiti Superski with 1,200 km of pistes on one pass.

Arabba is quieter than Selva or Corvara – a resort for keen skiers with a few hotels, a ski school and a couple of bars.

The journey from Innsbruck Airport to Arabba

We take the Brenner motorway into Italy, leave the A22 at Chiusa – Val Gardena or Bressanone, and reach Arabba either through the Val Gardena over the Gardena and Campolongo passes or through the Val Badia via Corvara and the Campolongo pass. About 2 hours 15 minutes; the driver chooses the route by pass conditions on the day.

The passes are cleared in winter but can close temporarily during heavy snowfall; we monitor the situation and agree the timing with you.
