Canazei and the Val di Fassa
Canazei (1,460 m) lies between the Sella, the Marmolada and the Sassolungo at the head of the Val di Fassa. The Belvedere gondola from the village leads onto the Sella Ronda; the Val di Fassa itself has around 120 km of pistes, and the Dolomiti Superski pass opens 1,200 km across twelve valleys, including the Marmolada glacier (3,343 m) reachable by ski bus from Canazei.
The town has a lively centre with Ladin restaurants, an indoor pool and a good selection of three- and four-star hotels; Campitello, with the Col Rodella cable car, is 3 km away and covered by the same transfer.

The journey from Innsbruck Airport to Canazei
We drive the Brenner motorway into Italy and continue on the A22 to the Egna – Ora exit, then through the Val di Fiemme via Cavalese and Predazzo into the Val di Fassa and up to Canazei – about 2 hours 20 minutes. The valley roads are main roads kept clear in winter.
In good conditions the route via the Val Gardena and the Sella pass is shorter, but the pass can be closed in winter, so we use it only when it is open and clear.
