Sölden: two glaciers and three 3,000 m peaks
Sölden (1,368 m) has 144 km of pistes between 1,350 and 3,340 m, 31 lifts and the BIG3 – three lift-served peaks above 3,000 m. The Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers open the season with the Alpine World Cup in October and keep it going into May; the Gaislachkogl and Giggijoch gondolas leave from the village. The 007 Elements installation on the Gaislachkogl and the ice Q restaurant are the resort's landmarks since the Bond film "Spectre".
The village stretches along the Ötztaler Ache with a large choice of hotels, ski schools, hire shops and Tyrol's most famous après-ski street; Hochsölden above the village and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl 15 km further up are separate fixed-price routes.

The journey from Innsbruck Airport to Sölden
We take the A12 Inn valley motorway west past Telfs and Imst to the Ötztal exit and follow the Ötztal road through Ötz, Umhausen and Längenfeld to Sölden – 83 km, about 1 hour 10 minutes. The valley road is a main road with hourly buses and is cleared constantly; on Saturdays in high season allow 15 minutes more.
Snow rarely closes the road to Sölden; in exceptional avalanche situations the upper valley can be closed for a few hours, and we agree the timing with you.
