Ellmau and the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental
Ellmau (812 m) is one of the most popular villages of the SkiWelt (around 270 km of pistes, 80 lifts) with the Hartkaiser funicular in the centre and the Astberg lifts on the edge of the village. The view of the Wilder Kaiser's limestone walls is the famous one from the Austrian TV series "Der Bergdoktor", which is filmed here.
The village has a large choice of four-star hotels, a spa and pool complex, ski schools with excellent children's areas and a relaxed après-ski scene; Going, Scheffau and Söll are five to ten minutes away.

The journey from Innsbruck Airport to Ellmau
Motorway east to the Kufstein-Süd exit, then the Wilder Kaiser road through Söll and Scheffau to Ellmau – about 1 hour 15 minutes. Alternatively via Wörgl and Söll when the Kufstein section is busy.
The road is a main road cleared round the clock; hotels on the hillside are reached with winter tyres and, if needed, chains.
