Saalbach-Hinterglemm and the Skicircus
Saalbach (1,003 m) and Hinterglemm (1,060 m) are two villages 4 km apart in the Glemmtal, together with Leogang and Fieberbrunn forming the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn – 270 km of pistes and 70 lifts, host of the 2025 Alpine World Championships. Saalbach has the livelier après-ski and the pedestrian centre; Hinterglemm is quieter and popular with families.
Lifts start in both village centres, so most hotels are ski-in/ski-out or a short walk from a gondola.

The journey from Innsbruck Airport to Saalbach
We drive the Inn valley motorway east to Wörgl, then via St. Johann in Tirol, Kitzbühel and the Pass Thurn to Mittersill, along the Salzach to Maishofen and up the Glemmtal to Saalbach – about 2 hours 20 minutes; Hinterglemm is 5 minutes further at the same price.
All roads on the route are main roads open all winter; the Glemmtal road is served by buses and cleared constantly.
